The project is about saving energy through targeted heating of material areas that are to be formed. The aim is to investigate the extent to which localised heating profiles can be used without the forming of the steel being subject to negative effects. To this end, rolling tests are to be planned and prepared.

Your tasks

  •  Familiarisation with the topic
  • Design of Experiments (DoE)
  • Concept development for modular tools
  • Development and construction of tools
  • Simulation of tools and heating if necessary

Your profile

 You are studying one of the following subjects:

  • Mechanical engineering
  • Industrial engineering (with forming technology content)
  • Similar degree programmes

You are interested in testing, development, design and, if applicable, simulation.

You also have knowledge of CAD programmes, simulation software and statistical test planning.
