To lower the barriers to the implementation of AGVs in SMEs, the FTS-Ready project aims to develop a method based on a maturity model. The maturity model assesses, based on the existing infrastructure, the extent to which SMEs meet the requirements for implementing AGVs and identifies any measures that need to be implemented beforehand. Furthermore, the method includes a decision-support tool designed to propose a vendor-neutral AGV solution based on given logistical requirements. The entire method is implemented in a software demonstrator.

Your tasks

  • Structured research into relevant standards, guidelines, and technical literature on the planning, implementation, and operational requirements of AGVs
  • Delimitation and classification of relevant information categories, e.g., use case, cargo
  • Identification and determination of specific input variables, including definition, source, data type, unit, and possible values
  • Conversion of input variables into understandable questions and answer formats for users without expertise in FTS
  • Description of dependencies, required fields, optional fields, and simple plausibility checks between the input variables, and conversion into a machine-processable format (e.g., as a table or JSON schema)
  • Application and qualitative review of the developed input catalog based on defined AGV application scenarios with regard to completeness, unambiguity, and clarity
