The method developed within this research project provides companies decisive support for the adjustment of their logistics draft and enables them to react quickly and flexibly according to the needs of the market. In dependence of the existing assembly system and the product to be mounted, specific proposals for the choice of a material supply concept depending on the type of the parts are presented. Considering upcoming logistics costs, a combination with procurement concepts follows. Through the adjustment of their logistic concepts, small and medium-sized companies are therefore able to react in an extremely contemporary and purposeful way on changing market demands.
Publications about the project
Logistics is a crucial issue for small and medium sized enterprises (SME). This paper deals with logistical concepts for assembly systems. The IPH is currently conducting a project with the aim of developing a method to combine allocation and delivery concepts for assembly systems to increase the logistical efficiency of SME. Via this method SME are able to adapt quickly to changing market environments.
