Project title Development of a modular system for a plug & play automated guided vehicle (PnPFTS)
Project duration 01.11.2019 – 31.01.2022
Press release

Automated guided vehicles (AGVs) can be integrated into existing warehouse structures, increase availability and reliability and allow a more transparent representation of material flows. Acquisition and commissioning still pose major challenges for many companies – especially for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Currently, AGVs are developed individually for each customer, which results in high acquisition and production costs, long delivery times and time-consuming commissioning. Furthermore, AGVs are expert systems which require specially trained personnel.

Together with flexlog GmbH, IPH is developing a novel AGV within the scope of this research project. Modular load handling devices, plug & play transfer and loading stations as well as an intuitive commissioning and configuration process should significantly lower the hurdle for the use of driverless systems. Users receive a system that they can operate easily, implement independently and quickly and adapt to their individual requirements.
