The EndLogSys research project addresses a key gap: We are developing a decision-making tool to determine the end-of-life (EoL) of intralogistics systems at an early stage and to identify and evaluate appropriate courses of action. To this end, conditions triggering EoL (e.g., rising failure rates, performance decline, end of manufacturer support) are systematically identified, and measures such as repair, continued operation, or retrofitting are evaluated in a comparable manner. Additionally, we are investigating which EoL conditions can be predicted using operational data. The goal of the research project is to design a practical tool to evaluate EoL conditions of individual intralogistics systems and recommend targeted measures to users.

Your tasks

  • Literature review on intralogistics systems (ILS) and application-specific end-of-life (EoL) conditions
  • Derivation of action plans for when EoL conditions arise
  • Development of an evaluation methodology for action plans in the event of an EoL condition
  • Development of a user tool for classifying and evaluating EoL conditions
  • Identification, preparation, and application of forecasting techniques to predict EoL conditions (AI/mathematical-statistical methods)
  • Support for the industry-oriented application of research results
