Project title | Mobile, environment-monitoring sensor system for industrial trucks to increase safety and work efficiency in intralogistics (MouSe) |
Project duration | 01.07.2025 – 30.06.2027 |
As part of the "MouSe" project, a mobile, environment-monitoring sensor system for manually guided industrial trucks is being developed to improve safety and work efficiency in intralogistics.
The aim is to minimize the hazards caused by limited visibility when operating industrial trucks and to reduce the accident rate. Possible hazards include bulky loads, confusing intersections, and reversing.
The project is researching an innovative assistance system that supports the operator in guiding the industrial truck and displays hazards via a visual interface. The idea is to equip mobile ground-based and/or aerial robot platforms with imaging sensors and deploy them in areas that are not visible to the operator. Hazards detected in these areas are visualized for the operator. The aim is for the mobile sensor system under investigation to be vehicle-independent and to function without external data sources, such as the positions of other industrial trucks in the factory environment.
The development of the system is expected to benefit small and medium-sized enterprises in particular, which stand to gain significantly from the advantages of improved safety and productivity.
