Project title Development of an efficient and low-maintenance air gun to ensure the discharge of bulk materials (SiloIQ)
Project duration 01.04.2026 – 30.09.2028

Air cannons are used to ensure the discharge of bulk materials from storage containers and are employed when the bulk material tends to form stable material bridges. However, the current state of the art has significant drawbacks.

The goal of this R&D project is to develop an innovative, intelligent air gun. A novel sensor concept and AI-based control software form the core innovations of this project and enable significant progress in the field of bulk material handling. This reduces gas and energy consumption, controls the activation of the air cannons based on demand, and determines maintenance intervals based on system condition, thereby increasing the availability, transparency, and reliability of the bulk material system.
