In the KIProWahl research project, an AI chatbot is being developed to support SMEs in eliciting their production processes for software selection (e.g., MES). To conduct effective interviews, the AI must know how established IT systems differ in their functionalities. In this thesis, you will analyze the MES market for differentiating core processes. Based on this, you will derive critical guiding questions that the chatbot must ask the operator in order to later make a tailored system recommendation.

Your tasks

  • Market research and functional comparison of established MES systems
  • Identification of core processes that set the system apart (e.g., variant management)
  • Derivation of process-specific questions for system scoping
  • Conversion of the questions into structured prompt templates for the LLM
  • Testing of the generated questions in the KIProWahl software demonstrator
