The “AI Act-Ready” research project, in collaboration with the Institute for Legal Informatics at Leibniz University Hannover, aims to support companies in dealing with the AI Act (also known as the AI Regulation) and other AI regulations and recommendations in a secure and independent manner, implementing the requirements with minimal effort and legal certainty, and creating individual internal AI guidelines.
Your tasks
- Research on current AI regulations, standards, and recommendations, e.g., using topic modeling
- Identification and analysis of relevant characteristics for classifying AI systems according to the EU AI Act
- Structuring and classification of AI systems in industry based on characteristics such as industry, type of use, use case, product type
- Creation of a dataset with feature values and assignment to four risk classes in accordance with EU requirements
- Visualization of the risk analysis in a risk matrix
- Participation in risk analysis using FMEA
- Development of a Python-based software demonstrator with GUI
- Collaboration on the creation of a practical application guide for SMEs
Your profile
You are studying one of the following subjects:
- Computer science
- Industrial Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Data Science, or similar.
You are interested in artificial intelligence and its industrial applications.
You also have:
- Knowledge of Python, ideally with experience in GUI development
- A basic understanding of regulatory requirements
- Initial experience in the field of text analysis or text mining is an advantage
- A structured, independent way of working and the ability to work in a team
- Willingness to familiarize yourself with legal and technical interface issues
- Good written and spoken German and English skills are required.
