Many manufacturing companies rely on stable intralogistics amid volatile markets and rising costs. The EndLogSys project fills a key gap by developing decision support to determine the end of life (EoL) of intralogistics systems early and in an application-oriented way. It systematically identifies EoL-triggering conditions (e.g., rising failure rates, performance loss, end of manufacturer support) and evaluates measures such as repair, continued operation, or retrofit in a comparable manner. It also assesses which EoL conditions can be predicted from operational data. The goal is fewer wrong decisions, less unplanned downtime, and economically sound actions.

Your tasks

  • Literature review on intralogistics systems (ILS) and application-specific end-of-life (EoL) conditions
  • Characterization and categorization of ILS
  • Derivation of action measures to be taken when EoL conditions occur
  • Identification, preparation, and application of forecasting techniques to predict the EoL condition
  • Support for the industry-oriented implementation of the research results

Your profile

You are currently studying one of the following disciplines (or a comparable program):

  • Industrial Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Logistics
  • Sustainable Engineering

You are interested in intralogistics systems, their sustainable and economically efficient operation, and forecasting models (classical methods and/or AI).

You also have a systematic, structured, and detail-oriented way of working.

Good German and English skills, both written and spoken, are required for the role.

We offer

  • Fair compensation
  • Independent work
  • Flexible working hours
