|Project||Automated and integrated layout and transport system planning taking logistical and economic targets into account (AutoLaT)|
The aim of the research project AutoLaT is to develop an expert system for the selection of transport systems and the integrated creation of material flow-efficient layouts. To this end, the effects of the transport system selection (e.g. reach truck) and the planning of the corresponding transport networks (e.g. route network for driverless transport systems) are to be taken into account in layout planning (arrangement of facilities and warehouses)
In the research project WALaTra, a method for selecting an LKT system is being developed based on the necessary degree of adaptability and automation. For the selection of an optimal acquisition a classification of current LKT systems is necessary, as well as the determination of the necessary adaptability and automation of the enterprises.
You can be creative in one or more of the following tasks:
- Literature research on current research topics
- Support in the implementation of projects with industrial partners
- Validation of theoretical and industrial research results
You are studying one of the following subjects:
- Industrial Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Production and logistics
You are interested in logistical issues, in particular factory planning, storage planning, production planning and control.
In addition, you have knowledge of the relevant MS Office applications, in particular PowerPoint and Excel. Further knowledge in Python programming or VBA programming is desirable. Good written and spoken German and English skills are required.
You are communicative, open to new topics and appreciate working in flat hierarchies. Ultimately, you will have the opportunity to play an active role in shaping your own work area.
