Just received your Master of Science in engineering? You have got some years of practical experience? Write your doctoral thesis at IPH! Our Ph.D. program is an excellent way to start a career in engineering.

What makes working at IPH so special is the combination of both R&D and consulting. The conferral of the doctorate takes places simultaneously to consulting activities. Often, the themes of the doctoral theses evolve as a result of industry projects.

While composing your thesis, you get counselling from one of the managing partners who are also professors at the University of Hanover. Thus, you become an expert on an engineering topic without losing your holistic view on the "big picture". After finishing the Ph.D. program you can either start a career at the university or take over responsibilty in the manufacturing industry.

Requirements

To participate in the IPH Ph.D. program, you need to hold a university degree in engineering (e. g. M.Sc. in mechanical engineering or industrial engineering). In addition to excellent grades you should have practical experience in a field relevant to the position you are applying for. Profound knowledge of process technology, production automation, or production and logistic networks is also required.

We expect our staff to be self-dependent and willing to perform. Since both R&D and consulting projects are carried out by teams, you should get along with people. Self-confidence, enthusiasm, and excellent German and English language skills are required.
